....also the man who totally tipped the balance of an all-ready too wailing London Electricity set at Eastnor 03.
Hmmmm. Can't he just go do some RnB or something?

paycheck! paycheck!
erm. I saw Coldcut on the "Let Us Play" tour and it was really pretty amazing. From what I've heard of the new album I would worry it may be the material if you lot didn't enjoy it.....
Especially after that Guardian interview the other day with them talking about "real songs"

Musically i enjoyed it, although i did feel they played a few to many songs thats weren't theirs... i expected a few more tracks from the album... The MC's were fantastic and i think without them, it wouldn't have felt cohesive and therefore very disjointed..
Not a big fan of souly type singers, so robert owens after "walk a mile in my shoes" (which is my fav track off the album) just wasn't my cup of tea.. (but thats my problem!)
Visually i had problems.. I could see Mike doing a sterling job working all the dials and buttons (respect to know where everything was located), but there seemed to be too much technology to use (ie the bullet cams were used towards the end) and it almost seemed like they were being used because they were there, not because they added anything to the set..
The 2 screens also seemed to be very disjointed, ie sometimes they worked as a larger screen, other times as seperate screens.. and the images didn't nec match up (ie one side had really nice images, then the other would be somethign completely unrelated)
There were also times when we saw dvd menu's or a blue screen (which imho as a vj is just a BIG no no!) and when there was an image on the rhs there wasn't anything on the lhs so it just seemed blank and random...
erm think thats about it for the timebeing... overall i enjoyed it, just wasn't blown away or inspired which i kind of expect from an AV act like CC.
ps anyone know the text number or e-mail addy to send the cctv stuff to?
and has there been such a gathering of vj types like that before!

I think its cos they basically push everything to its upmost limit and beyond. They've got grand ideas but the technology isn't there yet. (Or at least wasn't when I saw them the last time 3 yrs ago...might be now...).

It was *bloody* amazing. Totally blown away at the time, and made a point of seeing them a couple more times during that next year or so......

Couldn't get the ticket myself so cannot say but
When I saw them live(?) with Daelelus they sounded good although the venue was
too empty -ICA.
Cargo sometimes too packed although I have been to many gigs there, very good
ones when it was jam packed. (Cinematic Orchestra and Pest Ninja wise)
Will surely be going to one of the gig, maybe at Shepard Bush.
Very much looking forward to the review.
